JB Webb-Benjamin is a British technologist, cryptographer and founder who has spent two decades at the intersection of design, security and emerging media. He began as an award-winning animator, taking a BA (Hons) Animation, 1:1 with Honours at Ravensbourne, before designing and deploying some of the UK's largest commercial websites and curating multi-million-pound software projects.
Today he leads three companies: Veldris, the sovereign data platform behind Midgard; Kryotech, an encrypted-application studio; and Djinn Technologies, a volumetrics platform. He is the creator of Vox Messenger, the world's first post-quantum encrypted messenger, and a vocal advocate for the right to privacy in the age of mass surveillance.
A former Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Ravensbourne and an active member of the British Computer Society, he explains lattice cryptography to policy panels and ships it to 80,000 users.
